VAMPIRES
Vampires are a species of human that are much different than
a regular one. Granted supernatural powers through the bite of another,
vampires have strange abilities that are both a blessing and a curse. The
biggest thing they’re known for, however, is biting and taking the blood of
other humans, as that is what they feed on; these creatures cannot die of old
age, but they can be slain by a wooden stake or a certain potion (the main
ingredient of it being garlic), and they can only travel in the shadows;
sunlight burns them. However, vampires have super strength and speed, and can
turn into either a horde of bats or a single one; making them rather difficult
to kill.
WEREWOLVES
Also another species of human, werewolves are a lot more
difficult to find than vampires, as they blend in with the normal humans; in
fact, some werewolves may not even know what they are themselves. But these
wolf-humans are just as dangerous; forced into transformation under every full
moon, during this time werewolves’ human side completely disappears and the
wolf takes over, so it no longer matters what your relation is to them; they
will kill you. However, even in times when it’s not full moon, werewolves who
are trained well enough may transform at any time they wish. They get the same
abilities as regular wolves – strength, jaws and agility – but werewolves are
much bigger. They also get the aid of wolves as well, and can call some to help
them fight or hunt.
MAGES
They’re human, but some people think they may not be; Mages
are essentially witches and wizards, or people who can use magic. In Acirewiel,
Mages are completely outlawed, so them being alive is both rare and dangerous;
if discovered, they’re sentenced to terrible deaths, a popular one being burnt
at the stake. There are varieties of magic that Mages can wield; some Mages
only have specific abilities, while others have a lot of different ones. It all
depends what’s in their blood: it’s suspected that Mages had ancestors who
practiced magic, and that the magic gene became a part of them when they were
born. But depending on the magic their relatives used determines what they’re
able to use.
TROLLS
Rather stupid and brainless, the only thoughts trolls seem
to have are “food”, “survive”, and “obey our King” (yes, they have a King).
Trolls are long-armed and lanky, with pointy ears and hairy bodies. They can
speak the same languages as humans, but their voices tend to be deeper and more
gruff. They’re not very intelligent, and are mainly designed to destroy or eat
humans. Quite a few live in the innermost parts of the Dark Forest outside
Agraud’s Kingdom, and some live in other parts of the country. They listen to
no one except their King, who commands them and makes sure they obey his every
order.
GIANTS
Independent and fearsome creatures, giants get their name because of their size: they’re huge. All males, giants oftentimes have facial hair and long legs and arms. Giants often are seen carrying a weapon around to fend people off from their camps; and any person stupid enough to come near a giant never return most times. They don’t speak much and tend to be peaceful, so long as you stay on their good side, which is easy to remain on: avoid them, and they won’t mind you.
